🚀 Getting Started

How do I create a countdown?
Tap the + button on the main screen. Enter a name, pick a date, choose your colors and icon, then tap Create Countdown. Your new countdown appears instantly on the home list.
How do I edit or delete a countdown?
Tap any countdown to open its detail view. Use the Edit Countdown button to modify it, or tap Delete or Archive at the bottom. You can also swipe left on any card in the list for quick archive/delete actions.
What's the difference between Archive and Delete?
Archive hides the countdown from your main list but keeps it - you can restore it later from the Archive. Delete permanently removes it and cannot be undone.

📱 Widgets

How do I add a widget to my Home Screen?
Long-press on your Home Screen → tap the + button in the top-left → search for Countdownn → choose a size (Small, Medium, or Large) → tap Add Widget. Then long-press the widget and tap Edit Widget to select which countdown to display.
Can I add widgets to my Lock Screen?
Yes! Long-press your Lock Screen → tap Customize → tap the widget area above or below the clock → search for Countdownn and add it.
My widget shows the wrong countdown or isn't updating.
Long-press the widget → tap Edit Widget → select the correct countdown. If it's still not updating, try removing and re-adding the widget. Widgets refresh periodically based on iOS scheduling - they may not update to the exact second.
Can I use a photo as my widget background?
Yes! Photo frames available in Small widgets. When creating or editing a countdown, enable Photo Frame in the Appearance section and select a photo from your library.

🔔 Notifications

How do notifications work?
When you create a countdown with notifications enabled, you'll receive an alert when the countdown reaches zero. You can also set an Early Reminder (5 minutes to 3 months before) to get a heads-up before the event.
I'm not receiving notifications.
Check these steps: (1) Go to iOS Settings → Notifications → Countdownn and make sure notifications are allowed. (2) In the app's Settings → Notifications, ensure the toggle is on. (3) Make sure the specific countdown has Push Notification enabled. (4) Check that the countdown date hasn't already passed.
Can I change the notification sound?
Yes! Premium users can choose from multiple notification sounds. Go to Settings → Notifications to set a default sound, or set a custom sound per countdown when creating/editing it.
What is the default notification time?
If you create a countdown without a specific time, notifications use the Default Notification Time set in Settings → Notifications. This defaults to 8:00 AM but can be changed to any time you prefer.

iCloud Sync

How do I sync countdowns across my devices?
Go to Settings → iCloud and enable the toggle. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID on all your devices and that iCloud is enabled in iOS Settings. After enabling, close and reopen the app for changes to take effect.
My countdowns aren't syncing.
Ensure: (1) iCloud sync is enabled in the app's Settings. (2) You're signed in to the same Apple ID on both devices. (3) iCloud Drive is enabled in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud. (4) You have a stable internet connection. Sync may take a few minutes - try closing and reopening the app.
Is iCloud Sync a free feature?
iCloud Sync is available for free on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

📅 Calendar Import

How do I import events from my Calendar?
Go to the Calendar tab at the bottom of the app. You'll see all your upcoming calendar events. Tap to select the ones you want, then tap Import. Each imported event becomes a countdown with its date, repeat schedule, and reminders preserved.
The app asks for calendar permission but I denied it.
Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Calendars → Countdownn and enable Full Access. Then return to the app and your events will appear.

🔧 Troubleshooting

The app is crashing or not responding.
Try these steps: (1) Force-close the app and reopen it. (2) Restart your device. (3) Make sure you're running the latest version from the App Store. (4) If the issue persists, contact us with your device model and iOS version.
My countdown shows the wrong time remaining.
Check that the correct date and time are set for the event. Also verify your Time Unit setting (Days, Weeks, Months, Years) in the countdown's display settings. If the countdown has passed and shows "Complete", check the When countdown ends setting.
How do I change the app's accent color?
Go to Settings → App Color and tap any color from the palette. The accent color applies across the entire app and widgets.
